i deleted the remainder of my deviations. certain expressed mentalities worried me. plus i realized it's probably not a good idea to have pictures of me in my bra from when i was like 15 on the internet.
it's weird to think about how long it's been since i've taken pictures for artistic reasons. i used to live and breathe this stuff. it honestly got me through some of the toughest times in my life and i am so thankful. i haven't even had a camera for almost a year now. i took a trip to london and it got stolen by a swift swindler sporting a swanky suit. i was devastated, and have zero pictures to document my trip, but life goes on.
reading old journal entries feels so completely foreign. i think i've changed dramatically since my photophying days. it is painful to say that some of my floaty magicness has drifted away...but it's the truth. somewhere along the lines i became pretty damn mentally stable. i guess i'm just not....lost...anymore. i have goals and i know what i want to do with my life. sure, i miss those frenzied nights where i'd paint makeup onto my face and smear it around just for the hell of it, but god damn it, i wasn't happy. i was miserable, in fact. the only thing that made me happy were the conversations i'd have with miss chelsea-mermaid. i do miss those. i'd be up on the phone with her until dawn sometimes. we don't talk much anymore, but i remember she made me feel like there was nothing shameful about wanting to be with a girl, and for that i am forever grateful.
oh, deviantart. you're a capitalist's dream piece of shit, but i have so many memories with you. and i miss talking to so many of the artists on here.

what? you really need to look over what you just said. an artist's work is THEIR OWN. the fact that it is on the internet does not give anyone with internet access free reign to use whatever they find, however they wish. art is to be ENJOYED by the masses. not USED IN ANY WAY ONE PLEASES. what kind of an education are you getting?
being inspired and basing your work around ideas you got from looking at someone's art is one thing, but taking someone's actual work of art and drawing over it is not only pathetic, but it shows disrepect to the artist.
i have no idea in hell how you think someone should "show some appreciation" for having some jerk take their photo and run it through a filter in photoshop and call it their own work of art. you have a lot to learn about the world of art and the world in general.

The artwork that your friend threw a hissy fit over was something very personal to my friend. How dare you start throwing names around like that. She is not 'some jerk,' she is someone who put a lot of time and effort into making that picture her own. There was a lot more done than just 'running it through a filter in photoshop.' I'm sorry to inform you of this but taking some pictures is not the only artform out there and nor does it deserve to have that kind of ego-trip attached to it.
Either way, you and your friend got what you wanted. The picture was taken down. So be happy and stop trying to defend a moot point. It gets tedious after a while.

If said "artist" does not have permission to use some one else's picture, they may not post it as their own in any way, even if heavily edited.
